Encountering Dunamis: The Person Revealed - Week 1

Most followers of Jesus do not experience the power of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.
And many Christians do not even have a decent biblical understanding of the role and function of the Holy Spirit.
This series does two things: 1) lay the groundwork for a scriptural description of the Holy Spirit; 2) encourage a personal encounter with the power of the Holy Spirit in a person's daily personal walk with Jesus Christ.

Mornings with Mark & Gabe -Wednesday Morning Bible Study - 5/19/21

Spent some time in the studio at WJKA 91.9 fm Heartfelt Radio this morning with morning host Mark Zimmerman and  our friend from Destiny Rescue Ryan Nicholson.
We jumped into John 9 and unpacked the story of the blind man.  Spent some time too at the end pondering the state of the Church as we all continue in this journey post-pandemic.  Mark shared a story from the Canton Repository citing the oldest church in Stark County - Lexington UMC will close on May 30.

How to Bless - Week 6 - Story

Communication is a huge thing.  There's all sorts: verbal and non-verbal.  Maybe you've heard the classic saying...
"Preach the Gospel at all times.   When necessary use words." In this final message we're talking about how our words...or more specifically, our stories can change the world.  
The big idea:  In order to bless our neighbors, Jesus invites us to share how our story intersects with God’s story.

How to BLESS Your Neighbor – Week 5 –Serve

The Bible records a number of world-changing shifts.  One of the greatest was when Jesus was with his disciples on that Thursday in the Upper Room.  Jesus knew what was going to happen later that night and on Friday.  Jesus did something that night that changed everything.  He turned on its head the lie that if you wanted to be blessed, you have to look out for yourself before anyone else.  
 
This week we'll look at how Jesus modeled for us an incredible life changing truth, by setting aside His crown and picking up an apron.

How to BLESS Your Neighbor – Week 4 – Eat!

Truth is food is something we all enjoy and probably have an opinion about your favorite eats.  Despite our affection of good food, we often fail to recognize the power of eating--especially the experience of eating a meal with someone.  Something special happens when we gather at the table.  
 
The Big Idea for this week:  In order to BLESS our neighbor, Jesus invites us to share meals together.  As things open up and we think about how to engage those we know and are praying for, having a meal together might be exactly what it takes to move our relationships along.
