How To Neighbor -All the Lonely People - Week 6

What if Christians were the best neighbors? Would your street change? Would heaven be fuller?
A long time ago, a religious leader asked Jesus how to get into heaven. Jesus answered with a question, then the story of the Good Neighbor. No surprise, 2000 years later Jesus' story still explains how to neighbor.
In the final message of this series we wrap up with a final look at three simple things that we can do to love those around us.

In this message we take a look at what is poverty and talk about the reality that all of us are broken and in need of encouragement.  In particular looking at the biblical encouragement of meeting the needs of each other.  And especially those that are experiencing poverty, and buidling relationships based on reaching out as opposed to looking "down".

This week Dr. William Payne from Ashland Seminary helps us see how God wants to use our life situations to grow His Kingdom.  Unpacking the story of the faith of a slavegirl from II Kings 5:1-19a. we meet a girl that had every reason to give up on God and not to keep her faith. Yet, even though her life context was difficult, her faithfulness to God sparked a great work.

In week two we unpack that God's Plan A (and only plan) is realized through the work of the local church, especially when it comes to those who are orphaned and widowed.
We look at God's plan to change the lives of children by the charge in James 1:27: Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
We were honored to host Ryan Nicholson a local business man who also serves as representative for Destiny Rescue to offer insight to how we could make a difference in the world through the life on one child.

We're launching a new series this week. What if we don't have to travel far to get close to people who are distant from God? A long time ago a faith leader asked Jesus a question and Jesus answered with a story. 
In this first segment we look at the hard reality of our own prejudices that keep us from having relationsihps with others, especially those that are different than us.
Looking at the familiar story from the Luke 10 of the Good Samaritan.  We realize that when asked by a faith leader "who is my neighbor" Jesus responds by telling us how to neighbor.
